windows loading off screen

Stats: XP pro sp2 (all updates installed), Factory display card and driver,
Hitachi CM811 plus 1600x1200 professional monitor(set to 256 colors, all
updates installed)...
All program windows keep loading to far to the right (just off screen), so I
can't use or see the close button in the upper right corner. I've checked all
my settings, they only correct the display area. Any suggestions to solve
this problem?

Go to your control panel and click Classic view,
double click Display,
Click settings tab,
move slider bar to the right to go to a higher resolution,
Example: from 640 x 480 up to 800 x 600
Then,
click the Advanced button,
Click - Apply new settings without restarting.

Thanks for the response, but, as I've mentioned under specs., I'm running
maximum size already.
