Windows Live Search Pane Changes After Oct 1, 2007

After Oct 1, the WIndows Live Search Pane in IE 6 no longer displays
the pages clicking results links in the IE6 default main pane on the
right!!! The result displays IN THE LIVE SEARCH PANE ITSELF!

IS ANYONE ELSE CONCERNED ABOUT THIS??!!!

Yes, this is a known issue. There's a problem with the coding on the
Windows Live search site. There have been other posts on this group about
this issue. Hopefully this will be fixed soon.

No. I never really liked the "search pane" aka Search bar.

I have always set up my search engines' preferences so they will launch
results in a new window (or in IE7, in a new tab). Hence, I avoid the problem
of going back to a hit list from a result page (which is the main benefit of the
search bar) while getting a much more readable hit list (in contrast to the
search bar's necessarily cramped list.)

Search providers don't like them because it doesn't leave enough room
for links for advertising, which is what keeps them in business.

As an end user, I'm not in the business of satisfying search
provider's revenues. I like to quickly review the hits (links) so I
can filter out results do not satisfy ME. You can only do that
efficiently via a list on the left and the results page on the right.
