windows live onecare family safety

I can't uninstall this product. When I try - I get the following message:
Fatal error during installation.
The solution, (for removing the product) ,at the bottom of KB946758 just
leads to the same message.
I have windows XP sp2 on a dell XPS computer.
The problem may be that I never got around to properly installing the
product when
I had the chance. That is, when I installed sp 2 , I allowed the product to
be installed. But I never set it up by choosing any availabe options it may
have had. So it was on my computer - but unconfigured. Now , I'd like to
uninstall it, but I can't.
After uninstalling it, if I reinstall it - the next time I won't take so
long to configure it.

Every time I start my computer I get the message " An unexpected error
occured. Error : 80070433. The dependency service does not exist or has
been marked for deletion."
I have tried, but am unable to uninstall Windows Family Care. One problem
is that
every time I log out, the computer tries to install Windows Family Care
updates -
and it can't - it only cycles through an endless loop. And at the same time
a message tells me not to turn the computer off. But I eventually have to -
which I don't really think is a good idea to do. I think someday this will
crash my compter.
Please advise.
