Try turning on HTML for mail. Go to Tools - Options - Send tab - Mail
Sending Format section - click HTML (leave the other one for newsgroups set
to Plain Text please).

Hi Bruce,
I downloaded from a previous post dated today, that talked about
emoticons.

http://download.live.com/wlmail

Bruce Hagen said:
And what link was that? Did you download this?

Windows Live Mail (Overview & Features):
http://get.live.com/wlmail/overview

Make it the default e-mail program once it is downloaded.

Don't be concerned with what the link says, only what you see when you
click on it. If you did indeed download *and install* it, you need to make
it your default e-mail client in the Control Panel.

What link are you clicking on to start your email program?
Try: Start, All Programs, Windows Live, Windows Live Mail.
It should offer to set itself as the default the first time you
run it.
