Windows Live and MSN Messenger

1. Click Start, click Run, type services.msc in the Open box, and then click OK.
2. In the list of services, double-click Windows Installer.
3. In the Startup type list, click Manual.
4. Click Apply, and then click OK.

Restart Windows and try installing Windows Live Messenger again.

Trying to Windows Live or MSN Messenger in Vista I get Error 1601?

start, properties , start menu, customise and check the run command box.
