Used to hear radio commercials on a company that would audit companies to
make sure they were not abusing the licenses they purchase from Msft. Does
anyone know of such a company?

The SPA does this - call MS and ask for a company in your area.
 
If you just want to audit YOUR company, there is a product called EZ-Audit
($200) that audits all software installed on all computers. It might be
worth it to audit yourself first.
