Windows is shuuting down

Sorry, wrong erlier email address. Following reformat &
re-installation of Win XP Pro, when online I get the
message "Windows must now shut down because the Remote
Procedure Call (RPC) service terminated unexpectedly".
Any assistance greatly appreciated.
