windows installer

everytime I open 2 programs, Adobe and Registry Mechanic,
the windows installer starts up, telling me it's going to
install microsoft journal viewer. No matter how many
times I cancel, it continually pops up for around five
minutes, and then I finally can use Adobe or Registry
Mechanic. I have tried to let the installation continue
but it says I need the journal viewer disk. Is there any
reason for the windows installer always starting up?

Thank you for your help, it seemed to work but now it's
trying to install Microsoft XP with FrontPage. I am out
of ideas now
