"Windows installer" keeps activating everytime I start a new application .
This means everytime I open Internet explorer or OutlookExpress, the "Windows
Installer" window opens up. It then says preparing to install, then it says
installing. I can not do anything to the open application until the Windows
installer is done. This happens everytime I use my computer. I have tried
shutting it off and I have tried system restore. No luck.

A clue may be that I mistakenly deleted Micorsoft Office. I got it back with
system restore. Since then, this "Windows Installer" problem has been
happening. This is now on my second day of this. Any help?
 
The Office Help menus have a "Detect and Repair" item. Try letting the repair
fix it.
