I use Windows XP home edition, and in attempting to load
new software on to my computer I received an error
message from Windows Installer stating a runtime
scripting error had occured. I then attempted to fix
this error by updating the ISScript engine on my
computer. However, the engine once downloaded would not
open and I received the following error message: "The
Windows Installer Service could not be accessed. This can
occur if you are running Windows in safe mode, or the
Windows Installer is not correctly installed. Contact
your support personnel for assistance." The Microsoft
website claims this error doesn't happen on Windows XP,
so they don't have any solutions to the problem on the
website. Does anyone have any thoughts?
