Help!! I have had no problems like this before. I am trying to run a CD i
have run before - i keep getting the message - the windows installer service
could not be accessed. What can I do? When i try to run my Adobe Reader as
well i am getting the same message - i am stuck!!

maybe the "service"
is disabled.

you can go to
start > run > services.msc

and enable it...

Click Start, Run, and type SERVICES.MSC. In the right pane, right-click Windows Installer, and then click Start. Also, set the service "Startup Type" to Manual.
