windows installer problem

My program installations are being interrupted. I am
first told that there is an ...

Internal Error 2755. 995, C:\ etc. ...

Followed by ...

The I/O operation has been aborted because of either a
thread exit or an application request.

Note that I had disconnected my AV program before
installation. Also, a system check of the C drive
indicates no problems, and there are no other apparent
malfunctions.

Anyone have any idea what this means and how I can fix it?

Try to kill all processes that do not need to be running
(close all applications) and try to reinstall the software
you're trying to install. The problem only occurs with
windows installer? If yes, maybe windows installer
executables or libraries could be corrupted.. Check
Microsoft website to find what error 2755 could be..
