Windows Installer asks me to insert Disk for no reason

Starting a few days ago, and not caused by anything, as far as I can
remember, My IBM T30 has been asking me to put in the XP installation disk
whenever I restart the computer or open MS Word. The "Windows Installer"
dialogue pops up to deliver this message at which point I click "cancel" and
everything seems to run fine from then on. I have downloaded and installed
all operating system updates and I'm afraid that if I put the disk in it'll
lead to a total reinstallation, which I'd like to avoid. Any thoughts on why
this would happen and what I should do?
Thanks.

Every once in a while, for no reason to me, my computer does the same thing.
I now just put in the XP install disk like it asks for and in less than a
minute, 'it' finishes and everything returns to normal again.

I remember now what must've prompted this problem: I tried to install the
Japanese dictionary in Word, but couldn't get it to work. Before I dive into
trying these solutions, I want to know if they are still appropriate for my
problem?
Thanks so much to everyone.

With regard to Japanese dictionary, I changed the language bar to "JP" for
Japanese, then clicked "Tools" then clicked "Dictionary Tool." I think I
tried to install a dictionary, or something, but I couldn't figure out what
was going on, and since then I've had this problem.
