Windows in Vista Maximize By Themselves

I'm new to Vista, and didn't see anything on this via search or in the
various FAQ posts, so it's hard to believe it's a common occurance,
but:

Is there any reason why an open window would suddenly maximize and
contract on it's own when the cursor passes over the window? Using a
Toshiba laptop without a mouse, but I'm prety sure I'm not clicking
anywhere.

If this is a known phenomen, is there any way to turn it off?

Doing a search in this group on "resize" rather than "maximize"
returned a post with some leads to an education on tap zones in
synaptics pointing devices.
So my problem is really with advanced lap top technology rather than
Vista, I just happened to be introduced to them at the same time.
Sorry for the intrusion.

Hi,

I did the "resize" search, and got no hits at all. Can you give me the
URL, or some clue, as to the post that you referred to.

Thanks.

If you go into control panel -> classic view and open mouse you can get to
the synaptic properties and turn the zones on/off if you want.
