Found Vista bug! IE7 Run Maximized not working!!

Hey guys I have this bug in Windows Vista where if I set IE7 to run Maximized
under properties it does not remember that setting. Same for Run as Normal
Window or Minimized.

To test it right click on your IE7 icon and under properties next to RUN
select Maximized. Then open up IE7 and make the windows smaller then reopen
it. If there was no bug it should open Maximized.

I have had this bug since using Vista. I never had this bug in XP.

Any of you have this bug?

How can i contact Microsoft about this bug?

Works perfect here. You can try the following. Set the windows to maximize under Properties. Then open IE and stretch the window as much as you can. Close IE. Now when you open it should open as maximized and the settings in Properties for Normal and Minimized should work

Hi Peter,
The solution that you described is a workaround, not a solution !
Superman75 is right : it is a bug indeed - I tried it for myself and I fully
agree with him.

Maybe you all don't understand what I mean.

I have an IE7 icon on the bottom taskbar. On Windows XP I set it to run
Maximized and yes it will always open Maximized. Even when I had close an IE
winodow in a smaller size. Doing the same thing on Vista does not work! On
Vista if I close a IE window at a smaller size when I goto reopen a window
from the same icon on the taskbar it opens the same size that it was when I
closed it.

Do you now understand? Or am I just crazy

I just tried it and it work fine here.. Open it at max, resize it closed it
and open it again and it was back to max.

Not a bug here.

It is a bug and you are NOT doing what the OP stated.

Right click on the IE icon in the Quick Launch Toolbar. Go to properties. Go
to the "run" area. Set it for "maximized".

Whenever you start IE the window SHOULD be maximized. The setting doesn't
work - period.

The same setting works fine in Windows XP.

Tested and confirmed. I have the same condition here on multiple computers.

Same here. Neither Maximized nor Minimized set from Properties, Run have
any affect.

I don't know if this is the same bug or not but I use the Windows
Exlorer quite often and I always need to maximize the window. Setting
the icon property to run maximized does nothing.

Great!

I have now tested this on about 15 computers with various hardware
configurations and the function is non existent on all of them.

Glad it works for you.
