Windows XP Windows IE7 Installation problems

Ive recently got broadband and have set up a wireless network in my house but cannot get my browser to work on one of my machines, i have Windows XP professional with service pack 2 and everytime i try to install IE7 i get right to the end of the installation and then there is an error which forces me to restart the pc, there is a link on my desktop to trouble shoot tis problem but as i have no browser i cant access it. Ive also been having trouble removing freeserve from this machine and also wonder if i cant install IE7 because of this. how do i get IE7 to install, please help. Thanx
 
first of all you will still have a browser, it'll be IE 6.

second, what's the error message your receiving?
