I show 32 HOTFIX files in 'Add & Remove Programs, at 20
plus meg each - that's 640 meg. How do I reclaim or
conserve disk space in this circumstance?

How do you know they are 20+ megs each?

Those hotfixes are critical updates from Windows Update - you don't want to
remove them! If you're very certain that you won't want to uninstall any of
them, you can delete their uninstallers.
