I have Windows XP installed on my laptop. When I open a
program e.g. Notepad or task manager, the help window
related to the program pops up and does not allow to
click on the program window.
Also, I find in the task manager, many(above 180 and
sometimes more than 300) instances of helpctr.exe running
in the background that takes 100% of CPU and the system
hangs.
Is there any solution to the above problems?

Strange behaviour indeed. It may be something else, but have you checked to
see if the "F1" key isn't pressed down or doesn't have a short or similar?
Why? Well, "F1" is the default key for running "Help" software. Just a
thought. Good luck. :-)

Dear Peter,
You are great!! You are Genius!!!
It was the F1 Key only. Thanks a lot for your help.
Nig.
