Windows XP freezes up after I haven't used my computer for several hours. I
can't do a ctrl-alt-delete to shut the computer down--I have to power it off
at the surge protector. When I use a screen saver, the screen saver freezes.
Turning off the monitor doesn't help. I've even reinstalled Windows and
that didn't help. I'm stabbing in the dark...wondering if Norton Internet
Security could be causing the problem.

Maybe some software running in the background is causing this. For
troubleshooting tips see "How to Troubleshoot By Using the Msconfig
Utility in Windows XP" (http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=310560) and
"How to Perform a Clean Boot in Windows XP"
Also check in the Control Panel > Administrative Tools > Event Viewer
for if you can find more informations about the problem.
