Windows Freezes

Any idea why windows 2000 frezzes after brief periods of
inactivity? The computer must be reset and I know this is
hard on the hardware. Please, someone give me a clue.

Usually indicative of either a RAM issue or a hardrive going.

I agree with Ace, but don't forget the power supply and power feed.
Brownouts or poor conditioned power can make a whole whack of components in
the system unreliable which in turn affect the OS.

Is the server on a line conditioning UPS with dedicated power? Is the
server a "server class machine" or generic machine?
