I have just converted from Win 98 to Win 2000. Have too small a hard drive
and need to save to cd. Want to save my contacts folder in Outlook. In Win
98SE, the pst file was in the Windows/local settings folder. I cannot find
the Windows folder in Win 2000. I need to save the Outlook pst file to cd.
How do I do this?

On Drive C: there is a folder called Documents and Settings. Inside this
folder, I could not find a local settings folder. Where is the Outlook pst
file? Thanks.

It would be under the profile that you use which should be in Documents and
Settings. If you make sure all folders and files are unhidden, simply do a
file search for *.pst.

I have a Documents and Settings folder. I cannot find a %username%Local
Settings folder.

I'm using Windows 2000 on this laptop as well. When I go into Documents and
Settings, under my profile (which could be called anything, it's whatever you
log into the computer as) there is a folder called Local Settings. From Local
Settings you go to Application Data, from there to Microsoft, from there to
Outlook.
You may also find the PST under Documents and Settings, username,
Application Data, Microsoft, Outlook.
