windows firewall

how do i find out why windows firewall shuts off every time i shut down the
computer. i have to turn it on evey time i start up. it did not do that
until 10/ 7/ 04
 
Robert, I have exactly the same problem and I am desperate to find the
solution.

Likewise!

I have been looking for a solution for a few days (if it exists) as to why,
about 90 seconds after booting up, I get an MS security alert that my Windows
XP SP2 firewall is not active. This is almost immediately followed by it
becoming active. Most of my applications (eg IE, mail) will not run until the
firewall gets itself started.

Is this 'normal'?

My firewall is set to ON and automatic load, so is just very slow to wake up?
