I have AOL highspeed installed on my computer. I don't know what has
happened to my Windows firewall but it is not running. When I try to turn it
on, I get the following message...
Windows Firewall settings cannot be displayed because the associated service
is not running. do you want to start the Windows Firewall/Internet Connection
Sharing (ICS) service? When I click yes the Windows Firewall box comes up but
it does not allow my to check anything on th General screen. It is clicked as
off but I can not click on "on". Can someone tell me what I need to do to
fix this?

HELP

Windows Firewall options are grayed out:

You need to find a better firewall than what Windows supplies.
But...

Start | Run <type in> services.msc <enter>

Double click on Windows Firewall, select auto, APPLY then start.

Reboot, if it's off again you need to scan for malware.
