windows file protection

I am trying to load office 2000 pro on my system and I
keep getting a windows file protection error. I am not
sure what it is looking for. It asks me to put in my XP
disc. Any ideas?

look in the event viewer (eventvwr.msc from the RUN box).
Checkout the recent Application and System messages.
