Windows File Protection problems

Rat

I am being pestered by Windows File Protection errors on startup.
I have run 3 different virus scanners. I have run SFC /Scannow with
the cd rom in several times.

In the event viewer I get 2 errors on start up.

Event System
The COM+ Event System detected a bad return code during its internal
processing. HRESULT was 80070422 from line 44 of
d:\nt\com\com1x\src\events\tier1\eventsystemobj.cpp.
VSS
Volume Shadow Copy Service error: Unexpected error calling routine
CoCreateInstance. hr = 0x80040206.

The only thing that I have done recently is to ghost the windows
partion on to a new hard drive.

Help please

Hi,

It looks like you have some disabled services on your machine
(80070422 means "service disabled"). Please double-check if the
services below are in the required state:
1) COM+ Event System (eventsystem) - Enabled, manual start
2) Volume Shadow Copy service (vss) - Enabled, manual start
3) Microsoft Software Shadow Copy Provider (swprv) - Enabled, manual
start
4) System Event Notification Service (sens) - Enabled, Automatic start

If some of these services are disabled, do you know know they got in
this state? We've seen many instances of disabled services at several
customers recently and we are wondering what could cause these
services to be disabled.

Thanks,
Adi
