I have Win XP Home. Win Explorer opens in MY Document, how do I get it to
start up in My Computer
Thanks for any help you can give.

The easiest way is by using the keyboard combination:

Windows Key + E

I'm not the OP, but thanks!

Any idea why Windows Key + E starts up at My Computer (and opens it),
while a normal invocation of Windows Explorer doesn't? I.e. why the
different defaults?

I'm guessing because Windows Key + E is the equivalent of right-clicking
My Computer and selecting Explore. By default, the "normal" invocation
of Windows Explorer has the focus on My Documents.
