When I try to open my control panel or my documents I get the error message
"Windows Explorer has encountered a problem and needs to close." The details
are AppName: explorer.exe AppVer: 6.0.2900.2180 ModName: msvcrt.dll
ModVer: 7.0.2600.2180 Offset: 00037fd4

Can anyone help? Thanks!

If you've just installed Service Pack 2, try removing it
thru add/remove programs. I just did and now my
explorer.exe is working fine again. Therefore I will
refrain from installing SP2 until more fixes come out.

I haave same problem aafter installing SP2 and also get Mod Name: msvcrt.dll.
I have not seen this reported in web searches. I will also try to remove
SP2 although I originally installed it to get a clean version of IE6.
