Windows Explorer (XP) listing files in strange new order

Up until XP, Windows Explorer would list files in
alphabetical and numeric order when you clicked on the
NAME field in the upper right banner. All files that
started with the number 1 were grouped together and
further ordered by the next character. Now (in xp) I
will see files that start with a 1 in various areas as I
scroll down. What happened, can I get xp to list file
names the way 95,98 and 2000 do?
