Windows Explorer window opens on bootup

For several months, the Windows Explorer window opens on
initial bootup to the Desktop. I've searched my computer
to see if there are any stray explorer.exe files, but the
only files I find are located in in WINNT or a WINNT
subdirectory.

Any suggestions how to make this stop?
 
Check the Startup folder on the Start menu, or
the "Run" key in the registry
HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run
