Windows Explorer will not go away

Hi,

I have a problem with Windows Explorer when I try to close
it.

I close it by clicking x, or File/close etc but all it
does is LOOKS like it's minimised. When I try to Restore
or Maximise, it doesn't respond at all. Right click and
Close on the Taskbar doesn't work either. It's gone but it
looks like it's minimsed. Task manager shows no active
Programs. The only way I can get it to disappear from the
Taskbar is to end process explorer.exe which, of course
causes my desktop to disappear. I then have to New
Task "explorer"...... Another issue is that it takes
anything up to 6 minutes to Log Off/Saving your settings...

I've run Spybot, Adaware, CWS Shredder, all the usual
suspects and my 3 antivirus (run at seperate times) all
report clean.

Make a backup of this key in the registry :

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Browse
r Helper Objects

Then delete it and see that helps. If not, put it back from your backup.
