Windows Explorer - View

B

Bonnie

After a few weeks of happily using Windows Explorer,
suddenly my list of files came up as Icon view instead of
Details. I changed View to Details. Every time I open
Explorer, it is changed back to Icons. So, I did the
Folder Options, View, Apply to all Folders, Remember each
folder's view settings. So, now Explorer is ok. But,
ALL folders took the same settings, and all folders on
the desktop are now Details. Some I want Icons, like
Control Panel. How can I have View->Details in Explorer,
and Icons in other folders? I appreciate any answers.
Thanks.

Hi Bonnie,

WindowsXP will remember the settings of up to 400 folders, after that it
starts forgetting some. See this from MVP Kelly for a way to increase this
number:

Line 2, increase the folder view size limit to 8000
