Windows Explorer trying to access the Internet

Using XP with Service Pack 2 and just installed ZoneAlarm in place of Windows
Firewall (turned off). I had a warning come up from ZoneAlarm saying Windows
Explorer is trying to connect, or at the very least, trying to send something
to the Internet. I am assuming I should block this, as I cannot see a reason
for this communication. Any ideas?
 
Should have included that I've run the most recent updated scan of Norton
Antivirus and Pest Control as well as Spybot. All clear.
