Windows Explorer restarts

Windows Explorer restarts when I open and close the Add/Remove Programs
window in Control Panel. I use Vista Ultimate (32 Bit). Any help would be
most welcome. I have installed update KB938979 and KB938914 but no
improvement there.

Go to start/run, and type :
eventvwr.msc

Look for an event that is recorded during the 'restart on error' that
happens when you close add/remove.

Thanks Mark for answering. I looked into the Event Viewer. It lists the app
error as Event 1000, Task Category 100. The following description is also
mentioned:

Faulting application Explorer.EXE, version 6.0.6000.16386, time stamp
0x4549b091, faulting module Explorer.EXE, version 6.0.6000.16386, time stamp
0x4549b091, exception code 0xc0000005, fault offset 0x000249b0, process id
0x121c, application start time 0x01c8667dc7f143f9.

You should have been advised to go to Windows Update to get updates - that's
an old version of Explorer. Did you get that response? (Have you Checked
for Solutions? -- you can do that in the Problem Reports and Solutions
center control panel.)
