Try Tweak UI to recall the drive letter. Download the application from the
next link, install it and on My Computer\Drives\right pane, select the C
check box.

OR... Open a command prompt window (Start\All Programs\Accesories\Command
Prompt)

In the command window:
Type: DISKPART
Next to DISKPART> type; "LIST VOLUME" and hit Enter
A list of volumes or drives appears with volume number and letter (or
probably no letter on the system drive in your case)...

Next to DISKPART> type: "SELECT VOLUME #" (the number that corresponds
to
the system drive) and hit Enter
Now type: "ASSIGN LETTER C" and hit Enter, and type EXIT.

To put it simple... just open a command window and type five small commands

DISKPART
LIST VOLUME
SELECT VOLUME #
ASSIGN LETTER C
EXIT

I'm working on a computer running XP SP2 that was badly corrupted with
spyware. When I open Windows Explorer the C (root) drive in not listed under
My Computer. It shows the A: drive which this system has, the DVD-RW Drive
(E:) and no other drives. The system also has a second DVD drive D: which
isn't listed.
If I go to Disk Management in the Computer Management console it shows Disk
0 as the C: drive and Healthy (system). I can right-click on the drive and
select Explore and it will appear in the My Computer section of Windows
Explorer.

Drive 0 also has a 31 MB FAT partition (EISA Configuration), the C:
partition is 148.98 GB FAT32.

I'm at a total loss on how to fix this one so your help will be
appreciatied.

Thanks,
Gregg
