Hello. I have a folder with Mpeg and AVI files in it. When I open it and try
to browse through it. Everything gets slow. When I look in my task manager I
see that "explorer" is running at 99%.

Anyone know why?

Regards: Scott

Windows Explorer has problems with .avi files. It tries to grope everything
inside them. Try running edit on Kelly's site:
http://www.kellys-korner-xp.com/xp_tweaks.htm
Line 74: AVI Search Remove

See the top of the page for info on running the edit.

A free program called, "Process Explorer" helped me identify which of the
hundreds of avi files, windows explorer was chocking on. All I did then was
delete it from Limewire. That is how I downloaded it in the 1st place.

Problem solved.

Thanks for all the help though. :-)

You're welcome, thanks for posting back the resolution.
