"Windows Explorer has encountered a problem and needs to close.
Windows Explorer keeps crashing on me. It is an intermitant problem, even within the same session
Any suggestions

Where do I go for help on a problem like this

You might want to go to Start/Run and type: eventvwr.msc and press OK.
In the event Viewer, click on each of the items in the left side menu and
look for any Red X error messages that correspond to the last time this
behavior happened. Double click the entry to see the details of the error.
This may give you a clue as to program/hardware is causing the problem.
Click the Copy Icon on the right side of the details dialog and paste the
results back in a reply here.

Unfortunately, this error event 1000 is very generic in that it does not
give the actual faulting module (file) that is initiating the error. (Module
Unknown)

If this problem happens often, try the following.
To troubleshoot this, you might want to keep track of exactly what you are
doing when the event occurs. Keep a close eye on the event viewer and try to
detect some type of pattern.
