Windows Explorer doesn't read audio tracks?!

Faith

Hi everybody,

I don't know if my case has ever happened to anyone...

I am using Windows XP. Recently, whenever I insert an
audio cd into the drive and "explore" the contents of the
audio cd by using "window explorer", it always shows that
the tracks have only 1KB size! I am quite sure that the
tracks are bigger than 1KB. So, it's not viewing the
audio files, or, it is just not showing the true sizes of
the audio files... I believe that causes failure to my
other softwares.

I never realised this before and I don't know if this has
something to do with the settings... So, if anyone has
experienced the same thing and has a cure for it, please
tell me. Thank you very much!

Best,
Faith

Yes. Everyone.

You're seeing the .cda tracks, which, as far as Windows is concerned, is
just a pointer (or a link, if you will) to the actual audio data. Windows
doesn't try to access the audio "file", it accesses the .cda files, which
are fairly small. I doubt this is causing any problems with any other
software, but, since you didn't mention what issues you are having, we have
no way to say for sure.
