Windows Explorer does not show all mapped network drives

We have a problem with a user account where Windows Explorer only shows some
of the network drives that are currently mapped. Windows explorer seems to
be the only thing affected as other programs on the computer show and access
the network drives without any problem. We can verify the drives are mapped
by either going to a by running net use from a command prompt and also by
going to that drive letter and display the contents. Additionally, going to
either map network drive or disconnect network drive shows the drive
mapped to the correct letter.

As a little background information this user logs uses two computers on our
network and the issue shows up on each computer. Both computers are running
Windows XP Pro with SP2.

Additionally sometimes certain network drives show up in Explorer, while
other times those same drives are not shown even though they are mapped. If
the user either remaps the network drive or logs off and on the drives show
up correctly.

What happens when you press the F5 key while in Explorer?

Aside from seeing the drives flash briefly, nothing happens (the drive is
not displayed). You also cannot type in the drive letter yet you can type in
the unc path to the drive.

Has a resolution been found for this problem?
