Windows Explorer behaving Weird...

This problem started a few days ago.

1. I try to select a folder on the left side, but instead
of going to the folder, it briefly goes to the selected
folder and then jumps back to the original folder leaving
me unable to access any other folder.

2. Opened Windows Explorer yesterday. All of the menus
had disappeared. No way to get them back. I found a post
on Google that showed me how to go into the registry and
delete a key for Explorer and it did work. Weird though!

3. After observing behaviour in item 1 above, I then closd
Windows Explorer and clicked on Start Menu. System now
freezes up completely.
I had to reboot and then it all worked again.

4. Also, after behaviour in item 1 tried to run IE and it
didn't run at all.

I have Norton AV and the latest virus def's.

Don't know what is going on but it sounds like a NEW virus
out there.
