Windows Explorer - Apply View to All Folders

PT

I prefer to use the WinXP Home Windows Explorer in "Folders View" That is,
with a split screen, showing the tree on the left, and the contents of the
folder selected in the left pane, appearing in detail on the right pane.
However, my Windows Explorer always open in single pane view.

Here's what I've tried.

After opening and setting the Windows Explorer to the split view, I've used
Tools|Folder Options|View, and clicked the "Apply to All Folders" button.
However, WE continues to open in the single pane view.

Is there another trick I've missed?

Hi PT,

Open any folder and go to Tools>Folder Options>File Types tab. Locate and
click on to select "(NONE) Folder", then click on Advanced button. Ensure
that "explore" is selected as the Default (when you click on "explore" to
highlight it, if the Set Default button is available and not greyed out,
click on it), then click on OK then Close. Close the open folder. Now
whenever you open a folder, (hopefully!) the left sidebar will automatically
appear.

Regards,
