Windows Explorer and My Computer

[Search does not work]

Both of these programs open and function properly, EXCEPT the search
function. Clicking on "SEARCH" in the toolbar of either program produces no
action. The button flashes as if it is working, but the search function does
not open.

Any suggestions?

Open a run command and type in:
regsvr32 / shell32.dll click [OK]
Run disk cleanup and then reboot, does it work?.

If it doesn't then go through these fix by at a time and Reboot your machine
for changes to take effect.
