when I turn my PC on for the first time each day, I get
the following message:

"Cannot find 'copy'. Make sure you type the name
correctly, and then try again. To search for a file,
click the Start Button, and click Search."

I have not changed any Windows settings in some time and
this just recently started.......

Any ideas?

What does a scan with a current antivirus program (meaning a version not
later than 2002 and using updated virus definitions) show? Also, remove
spyware with Spybot Search & Destroy from www.security.kolla.de and
Ad-aware from www.lavasoftusa.com.

It would seem that something has put a line in your startup that is
trying to do a copy - and is getting it wrong.

Start - Run MSconfig.exe and look in the startup page for a line where
the Command column has Copy in it - uncheck the line and exit (don't
bother to reboot right there, but the next time you do there will be a
pane about 'Troubleshooting': check the 'don't show again' and OK.

Then try to track the offender down - run antivirus with up dated
definitions,a nd also get AdAware from www.lavasoftusa.com and run that
too
