Windows Displays wrong icons

My Windows XP displays the wrong icons for hardware, and when i double click
on my restoration hard drive, the search agent opens up. Anu suggestions?
 
Try this:

Open Start, Run, type without the quotation marks 'regsvr32 /i shell32.dll' and press OK. Then restart the computer.
 
Sorry, I tried that, but not working, also, the wrong file actions are set,
like if I double click on my hard drive, the search companion runs, the hard
drive does not open.
