Windows Desktop Search not finding Outlook Messages

"I have Windows XP SP2 and Outlook 2007 with Exchange Server 2003

I downloaded and installed Windows Desktop Search 3.01.

When I search for a message in Outlook, I only get "No Matches Found
For...", even if a search for a message that I'm looking right at.

I have tried uninstalling/re-installing the WDS.

In Outlook, under Tools - Options - Search Options under Index Messages in
these Data Files, I have "Mailbox - My Mailbox" checked.

Desktop Search works when searching regular files, but no matter what i do,
what i search for, i get no results when searching for messages in Outlook.

I have exactly the same problem but I'm running Outlook 2002 with Exchange
Server. It used to work fine with an old version of WDS but since I have
updated, it now no longer finds anything from Outlook except very old emails
that have been archived.

I have justed installed the Windows Live Toolbar to see if that works. It
doesn't. I can see it in Outlook but when I search for an email i received
10 minues ago, it says it can't find anything.

Anyone got any Ideas?

Hey, I actually figure this out - at least for me. The problem i found was
happening when I had Exchange System Management tools installed. Apparently
it changes the MAPI.

If you run \system32\fixmapi.exe, it should fix the problem... at least it
did for me.

Hi Matt great to hear that you got yours up and running. I tried fixmapi.exe
but still no joy I'm afraid. If anyone has any ideas, I really would
appreciate it. Thanks in advance.
