Windows-Delayed Writing Failed

OS: Windows XP Home Sp.2
Other Equip: IOMEGA Jazz 2.0 GB, HP CD Writer 9600.
Using "Windows/Veritas Backup" to backup 600MB of data on my Jazz Drive
(JED), it aborts circa 200MB with the message "Windows-Delayed Writing
Failed".
If I back up the same data to a folder on my HD and then copy it to the JED,
I get the same error message. However, I can successfully burn the same
600MB Backup Folder from my HD with the CD Writer.
I have re-installed the IOMEGA software and driver and also tried disabling
the Disk Caching, but no change in the problem.
I see from Google that other hardware equipments appear to be experiencing a
similar problem (eg. USB, Flash Cards etc.) which suggests that the problem
is with MS Windows or the Veritas Backup.
Is there a solution to the "Windows-Delayed Writing" problem?

I had the same problem using my Pinnacle Firewire card while using my
Maxtor External Disk.
On other computers there was no problem...
Finally I bought a different Firewire card, problem solved...

If you use an external device, your solution might be in that direction.
I have, b.t.w., a Asus AV266 Mobo (AMD Athlon).

Good luck
