Hello Kathy,

Whatever you do, (installing and updateting or unistalling) always as a
adinistratºr.

Have you tried these operations running in safe mºde?

MpSHook.dll deletion

Kathy - I've been fighting the same problem. Defender slowed down my computer so much that it was necessary to uninstall the program. Unfortunately, I was unable to delete the Windows Defender folder because the MpSHook.dll couldn't be deleted. After searching the registry for all Defender entries, and deleting them, I still couldn't delete the MpSHook.dll. So, I renamed this file to "xMpSHook.dll" and then rebooted my computer. I was then able to delete this file and folder. I hope this simple solution works for you, because it sure resulted in a better working computer for me. Good luck. - Dave
