Windows Defender turning off

I have windows vista ultimate and everytime I go into windows defender it
says that's turned off. I turn it on and a couple of days later it turns off.
Is there another program that might turn this off? (ex. Windows Live One
Care?)

Yes and you know why? Windows Live One Care has its own spyware scanner
that is equal to Defender. MSFT fails to tell you this because they are,
well, MSFT, and often they don't explain their software adequately. One
unfortunate aspect of WOC is they don't tell you overtly it has a spyware
scanner integrated into it and you can set it to run every day/night when
you are asleep by right clicking the little green baby with a "1" at the
notification area>settings.

Solution: Just disable defender's service. You don't need it if you are
running WOC Live. Type "services.msc" in your run box. Windows Defender
service is listed alphabetically>highlight>rt. click>properties>startup
type>disable.
