A few of my programs (eg Works 8, AVG Anti Virus) a shown as not yet
classified. How can I change this to Permitted please? (I don't understand
this I'm afraid!). Thanks.

Hello,

try clicking on the "Show for all Users" (or something) button. Will it
help?

Greetings,
P. Di Stolfo

I tried that and it just refreshes the list, so I think it's just changing it
from restricted (presumably Administrator) to all users.

P. Di Stolfo - it simply (not classified) is telling you that the proram
has the ability to change/add enries in system files and has not "received"
Vista logo certification.

The term "not yet classified" does not equate to "not permitted". It does
not in any way restrict your use of the programs and will be continued to be
loaded at boot - the items can be removed from startup and will not be
listed via Defender.
