Windows Critical Error

My comp showed a windows update, so i told it ok, i haven't been able to get
it to stay on since then, It comes up Windows has encountered a critical
error and will restart in one minute. And it does shut down and restart.
Can you please help.

Tap F8 right at PowerOn/ Startup, and when a list of options comes up, use UP
arrow key to go to Safe Mode, then hit ENTER

Once there, Start>Programs>Accessories>System tools>System Restore>Pick a
date before the BAD update.
While there, change how you receive Windows updates from AUTO to NOTIFY YOU
when the are there to be downloaded.
