Windows compress old files

Please help me out this problem. After messing up with my PC system runing
Windows-XP, many of the Word document files are deleted completely. Does the
compress old files still have a copy of these files? if so, where can I find
this compress file and do decompress this file?

Thanks,

No. If you deleted your data files without backing them up, they are gone
unless you run data recovery software on the drive. If you wish to do this,
stop working with the drive immediately. Here are a few links to data
recovery software.
